Find Your Courage: A Call for Volunteers in Nebraska Job’s Daughters

By: Grand Guardian Dyana Burton & Associate Grand Guardian Eric Bahm

In Nebraska Job’s Daughters, we often tell our members to Find Your Courage. Courage takes many forms—it’s in a Daughter stepping into a new leadership role, in a Bethel trying something new for the first time, and in adults deciding to raise their hands and say, “I want to help.”

This year, we are calling on all adults—parents, alumni, Masons, and friends of our organization—to join us in finding your own path of courage through service to Nebraska Job’s Daughters. Whether you’re brand new and just learning about who we are, or a longtime supporter looking for fresh opportunities, there is a place for you.

Why Volunteers Matter

Nebraska Job’s Daughters thrives because of dedicated adults who step forward to mentor, guide, and support our members. From local Bethels to statewide events, volunteers are the foundation of everything we do. Without them, we cannot deliver the experiences that have shaped generations of young women: Grand Session, workshops, retreats, fundraising events, and so much more.

When you serve, you’re not just “helping out.” You are guaranteeing the future health of our organization, ensuring that the values of leadership, community, and courage are carried forward for decades to come.

A Path for Every Adult

Every volunteer journey begins with becoming a Certified Adult Volunteer (CAV)—our youth protection program that ensures every Daughter is safe and supported. From there, you can find your own unique way to serve:

  • At the Local Level: Join a Bethel Guardian Council (BGC) to directly mentor members, support meetings and activities, and keep your local Bethel strong.

  • At the State Level: Join a Grand Guardian Council Committee. Whether your passion is ritual, competitions, membership, scholarships, or special events, there’s a committee where your talents can shine.

  • As a Deputy: Step into a leadership role that supports Bethels, offering guidance, mentorship, and consistency.

  • In Elected or Appointed Roles: Serve on the Grand Guardian Council itself, helping steer our statewide vision and programs.

Every role is important. Every role is valued. And every role is an opportunity to find your courage and help the next generation of Job’s Daughters thrive.

We Need You

Our members depend on adults who can bring both fresh energy and seasoned wisdom. Maybe you’re a new parent wanting to give back. Maybe you’re a Mason ready to lend your experience. Maybe you’ve been with Job’s Daughters for decades but are looking for a new challenge.

Whatever your background, there is a place for you to contribute. And right now, we especially need adults willing to step up at the state level to help carry on the traditions and events that make Nebraska Job’s Daughters so special.
